We are excited to introduce Shift Gives

Shift Gives is our social impact program, a way for us to make a meaningful contribution to our communities. Through Shift Gives, we donate our time and a portion of our profits, this isn’t just a checkbox for us—it’s an essential part of who we are.

Quarterly donations

Each quarter, we will donate a portion of our profits to nonprofits and organizations that align with our values. As part of our commitment to corporate social responsibility (CSR), we ensure the programs we support make tangible impacts in fields like education, technology, health, and social equity, amplifying efforts that are already making waves in our communities.

Employee volunteer program

Giving isn’t only about financial contributions. We believe in rolling up our sleeves and actively getting involved in volunteering opportunities, and we do that through our Employee Volunteer Program (EVP) and through our collective volunteer event during our annual company off-site. Whether it's cleaning up local parks, supporting community-driven educational programs, serving meals, or participating in tech literacy workshops, we want to connect our mission of enhancing people’s digital world with meaningful, hands-on work in our communities.

EVP is designed to encourage and support employees in giving back to their local communities through volunteer work. We believe that fostering a culture of social responsibility not only benefits the community but also enriches the lives of our employees. Through this program, employees are given time off to volunteer for causes they are passionate about, allowing them to contribute in meaningful ways while aligning with the company’s core values of empathy, collaboration, and positive impact.

The program was designed because we understand that engaged, fulfilled employees lead to a more positive and productive workplace. We believe offering opportunities for community involvement strengthens team morale, enhances employee satisfaction, and builds stronger connections with the communities where employees and companies live and work.

Shift Gives allows us to contribute to the well-being of those around us while staying true to the core values of our company. Our values and program criteria explained

At Shift browser, we prioritize our values—alignment, transparency, and consistency—in all our social impact efforts. Because of this, the organizations we support financially and through our corporate volunteering program should embody one or more of the following:

1. Advocate for climate action
Programs and/or projects that deliver comprehensive climate solutions that align with Shift’s sustainability commitments.

2. Advance social justice
Programs that advocate for equality, human rights, and fair treatment for all individuals. For example, advocating for LGBTQIA+ rights, disability inclusion efforts, racial and gender equity movements, and beyond.

3. Support health and well-being
Projects that remove barriers to access, ie. provide food security, housing security, and increase overall well-being for marginalized individuals in the communities where our team lives, works, and plays.

4. Promote tech industry education and skill development
Initiatives that work towards increasing diversity within the ecosystem that is reflective of our communities. As well as provide continuing development opportunities to support those in these industries.
