How does this work?
To sell your car to Shift, use our estimator to find out how much your car is worth. If you like the estimate, you can schedule an evaluation with a Shift Concierge. The Shift Concierge will evaluate your vehicle and, if applicable, make adjustments to the initial offer based on condition. If you approve the finalized offer, we’ll set up a direct transfer to your bank account (your bank usually deposits the funds in 3-7 business days). We’ll take your car and collect and process all the DMV paperwork!
How do you come up with the estimate?
Shift’s pricing algorithm uses thousands of data points to calculate the market value of your car. Your estimate is based on car details and mileage, buyer demand in your zip code and city, features and packages, and estimated condition of the car. We include data about what your specific vehicle is selling for in your direct area at this moment.
Will my offer change?
In most cases, your initial offer will not change ahead of your evaluation appointment. In cases where a vehicle make and model is less common, Shift may review the initial estimate and manually assess the offer as the algorithm may not have had sufficient data to offer an accurate price.
In the event a change happens, you will be notified before your appointment by a Shift Advisor. Once at the appointment, a Concierge will conduct an evaluation of your vehicle to determine your final offer.
Do I need an appointment?
Yes! We require booking an appointment in advance to ensure we can meet you at the designated time and location.
How and when do I get paid?
Shift will send any payments owed to you through a secured Automated Clearing House (ACH) – or a direct bank transfer. Payment will be initiated within 24 hours of selling your car to Shift, and it may take your bank 3-7 business days to have the funds be available in your account.
If you owe any additional amount towards your lease or loan outside our final offer, you’ll be making that payment to Shift at the end of your appointment as we will fully pay down your outstanding loan or lease. We accept credit card, debit card, or bank account transfers.
How do I earn a $300 bonus?
